Combining Science, Art and a touch of Alchemy; it is our aim to spread the word through our delicious concoctions and deliver us from bland food.

Out of Chaos comes order, here is where they meet.

Fermentation comes in many forms.

From alcoholic drinks to Black Tea, Chocolate, Coffee, Sauerkraut, Yoghurt, Soy sauce, Kimchi... the list is endless.

Certain yeasts ferment sugars into alcohol, but when it comes to fermenting foods in a controlled manner this is often done by bacteria such as Lactobacillus - the "good bacteria" you find in probiotic drinks.

Historically this was done to preserve food as the resulting lactic acid would 'pickle' the food so that it may be stored safely for months if not years.

A welcome side effect of this is the creation of complex flavours, some of which can only be achieved through fermentation, flavours which have become unfamiliar to many of us since artificial preservatives and Ultra High Temperature processing have taken over as the more common means of preservation.

These Complex, Umami-rich and incredibly satisfying flavours are the reason Ferm Believers was created, now we want to bring them to the masses.
